Cake Smash

Oh this little one year old filled up my studio with her laughter during her cake smash session. I could not get enough of her chunky baby thighs, and her little baby wrists! And that smile! We had a great session withSkylar.

Before we brought out the cake I let Skylar play with her wooden letters that we used in the background set up for her cake smash. This girl was the perfect one year old model. She sat and smiled and only tried to crawl away to escape once or twice! Mom said she's not walking yet but she gets around really well by walking on her knees. She has a baby walker, but she likes to imitate a pirate and walk with one stiff leg she refuses to bend. Mom and Dad think this is endlessly funny, and Skylar just laughs along too.

I just could not love my cakes stand (special made by my husband, Joe) any more. Mama wanted me to use pinks, so of course I went with my background from r2backdrops, and Katies Bakery Creations did an amazing job on the pink cake with confetti on top.

As you can see, baby girl was not at all confused about what to do with her cake. She dug right in! According to Mom, Skylar loves her veggies, but has also, obviously, developed a deep affection for cake in all shapes!

All things girly were used for Skylar's cake smash. This purple flower headband is from My Little Darling Boutique. Baby girl was so focused once we got that cake in front of her. I love her big eyes looking over at her mama to make sure it was okay she was destroying this lovely (and tasty!) cake.

When she'd had her fill of the cake eating and smashing, we put her in my cute little vintage baby tub from the Vintage Prop Shoppe to start to wash off. She was fresh and clean after her bath and pretty tired out from all that cake eating. I bet her fur brother Knox couldn't even smell the yummy treat on her, she left my studio so fresh and so clean. I had such a great time, I hope to see the Petersons again really soon!
